Political Ponderings

Before I get up on a soap box here and shake my fist in anger, I’d like to show everyone of the following clip:

I’d also like to go back to the winter of 2001, and remind everyone who feels as if though they are now in the minority and being robbed of their civil liberties of your reaction to anyone who opposed the Bush administration. I’d like you to think back to that time, to the height of post-9/11 fervor, and try to imagine for a moment what your reaction would have been to me telling you “I hope the president fails. I oppose his policies, and I hope he fails in protecting us. There’s nothing wrong with me saying that, it’s my constitutional right and I hope he fails to prevent further attacks. If Al Gore had been elected, we’d be safer now.” Just remember, no matter how self-righteous you are, you don’t always get to be in the top stall of the outhouse.

I know I’m a few days late with this, but it still makes me smile every time I think of it.

Just to make sure that we’re covering all the bases:
