Well, this is my first posting on this blog. I’m starting out with a brief overview of what I’m doing, what’s happened so far, and why I’m writing this.
First off, let’s start with what I’m doing. This blog will serve as my journal of thoughts as I go through “Da Plan” to put my professional and academic life back on track. Some of the things I intend to do over the next few months/years include working on a few IT certifications, wrapping up a pair of Associate’s degrees from College of Marin, and getting myself back on track with a transfer-degree to UC Berkeley. There is also a health-matter that requires me to start thinking seriously about taking care of myself; eating healthier, working out, the whole bit. More about that later.
So, how did I get here? It’s simple really, through lots of slacking and procrastinating. For the past eight years, I’ve been caught up in personal issues, daydreams of going back to school, and excuses to no end. Recently, I made a serious attempt to get back on track with school, ending up having to drop all my classes for a semester, right after getting a terrible grade in a calculus class, for the reason of getting caught up in even more stress than usual. So, now that my plan has been pushed back, and I have to wait an additional year to transfer to the UC, no matter what, I’ve decided to keep a record of my progress in order to stay focused and record my successes. . . and failures.
